We issued a TINEWS yesterday that inadvertently left off the email address to be used by potential bidders and contractors to pre-register for the US-VISIT Industry Conference. The email address for Ginger Wilson is ginger.wilson@dhs.gov.

The US-VISIT Industry Conference which will be held July 8, 2003 at the Crystal City Marriott's Crystal Forum, located at 1999 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, VA 22202. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. with conference proceedings from 9:00 a.m. until noon.

Secretary Tom Ridge, Department of Homeland Security, announced the U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology Program (previously the Entry-Exit System) on April 29, 2003. He also announced that the US-VISIT Program Office would report directly to the Under Secretary for Border Transportation and Security, Asa Hutchinson. As part of the restructuring of the US-VISIT Program, Secretary Ridge set goals for the US-VISIT Program. Those restructuring goals now drive the acquisition strategies.

The US-VISIT Program Office would like to share these strategies with industry partners. The purpose of the conference is to begin open communications with potential industry prime bidders/contractors and potential subcontractors/suppliers, and provide information regarding:

  1. The goals for US-VISIT;
  2. The new acquisition strategy and anticipated timelines;
  3. The US-VISIT Program Office structure and key support contractors;
  4. Their desire to promote small and small disadvantaged business participation; and
  5. Answer questions industry partners may have.

The US-VISIT Program Office plans to engage companies/teams that are serious potential prime bidders in an exchange of information. This will help the US-VISIT Team develop the Request for Proposal (RFP) for a US-VISIT Prime Integrator with the goal of issuing a final RFP by November 2003 and making an award by May 2004. A US-VISIT website is currently under construction and will serve as the information portal for US-VISIT. There is a US-VISIT fact sheet available for review at http://www.dhs.gov/dhspublic/display?theme=43&content=736&print=true.

Organizations interested in attending the US VISIT Industry Conference were encouraged to pre-register via electronic mail to Ginger Wilson at ginger.wilson@dhs.gov They want people to pre-registration so they are prepared for the number of conference participants. Include the following information in your email registration message: 1) Company Name, 2) Address, 3) Primary Point of Contact, 4) Point of Contact Phone Number, 5) Point of Contact Email, and 6) Name of Attendee(s).

Thank you.
