2016 Market Development Cooperator Program (MDCP)
Proposal Submission Deadline Announced
The Department of Commerce’s Market Development Cooperator Program (MDCP) is a grant program established to assist non-profit organizations in being more competitive by developing or expanding their exporting activities. Interested parties have until March 7, 2016 to submit an application for the 2016 MDCP pool.
Through the MDCP, the International Trade Administration (ITA) awards financial assistance of up to $300,000 to U.S. trade associations and other non-profit business promotion organizations. Such export multiplier organizations undertake MDCP projects that help companies increase exports that create or sustain U.S. jobs. Applicant organizations compete for a limited number of MDCP award funds and must support at least 67% of the project cost.
MDCP projects have an impressive return on the funds invested in the program. On average, every MDCP award dollar generates $335 in exports.
The National Travel and Tourism Office and the U.S. Foreign and Commercial Service are available for limited background-related assistance with market background and plan suggestions for this grant, as long as it is within the official MDCP guidelines. See the Competition Period page on http://www.trade.gov/mdcp/Apply/Apply.html for more guidance. It is strongly encouraged that you contact both the Commercial Service offices and our office for information to use in your MDCP application.
